The California Culinary Academy was founded in 1977, making it one of the first culinary arts schools on the West Coast. Having opened a brand-new campus in 2004, the California Culinary Academy ensures that its students have access to the best kitchens, cafeterias and other amenities expected from a top rated culinary program. The main campus of the California Culinary Academy is located in the Potrero Hill neighborhood and the new campus is located in downtown San Francisco. Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Program

This program focuses upon the well established traditional coursework offered by Le Cordon Bleu. Students will follow a hands-on approach to their studies, which will take place in one of the many state of the art kitchens at the California Culinary Academy. Students will learn various aspects of the culinary and hospitality world. Significant amounts of time will be spent in the kitchen learning classical techniques and cooking methods. Courses will include American regional and international cuisine, baking and pastry making. Upon completion of this program, the student will earn an Associate of Occupational Studies Degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts and also a Certificate in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts.
Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking Program
Similarly to the Culinary Arts Program, this program is based upon the respected Le Cordon Bleu teaching methods. This program provides students with the education and training to excel in baking and pastry making. The coursework focuses upon artisan bread baking, design and creation of chocolate and sugar showpieces, classic European pastry and fine patisseries techniques. Upon completion of this program, the student will earn a Certificate in Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking
The Pâtisserie and Baking Program typically takes students approximately 30 weeks to complete. The Culinary Arts degree Program typically takes 16 months to complete.
The Application Process
Applying to the California Culinary Academy could not be any easier. Le Cordon Bleu now has a simple online application process. This online process is available to both first-time and transfer students. The school is an excellent option for high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the culinary arts.
Financial Aid
Financial and student aid is available to students who qualify.
